La portada de Reise Reise muestra una caja negra de un avión. Su función es almacenar datos que, en caso de un accidente, permitan conocer lo ocurrido en los momentos previos.

Al comienzo de Reise Reise, podemos escuchar la escalofriante grabación de una caja negra segundos antes de estrellarse el avión, con solo retroceder unos 30 segundos con un discman o algún otro reproducto de cd’s podremos escuchar esa grabación. Esta grabación pertenece a la linea japonesa Japan Airlines del vuelo JAL123.
